Maybelline’s Colossal Volum’Express Mascara does not go unnoticed on the make-up counters amongst rival cosmetics. Its vibrant yellow tube –for want of a better word –was the first thing that caught my eye in the local Superdrug. That and the “Buy 2 for £12”sign above it.
As far as packaging goes,the mascara is certainly very pretty and brightens up my make-up bag. Its sheer size gives the impression that it is there for strength and volume,something my eyelashes are in desperate need of.
I try it once and love how much longer it makes my lashes look. Plus,it seems to emphasise the size of my eyes as well as the eyeshadow/eyeliner colours I tend to use.
After a couple of days usage I get a bit tired of feeling like my eyelashes are sticking together. Although the large brush on the end of the mascara helps separate and lengthen lashes,I can’t help feeling I have coagulated glue stuck up there. But as the days pass and I learn to use the mascara in a more brush-stroke like and slow motion,the glue feeling dissolves and I’m left with longer looking eyelashes,now tinted a very pleasing black which highlight the last little remaining hint of a tan I have left from my holiday.
